1. The short version
NeonDAW is a music-production app that runs entirely on your Mac. We do not have accounts, we do not run a server, and we do not collect, sell, or share your personal information. Your projects, recordings, samples, and settings live on your own device. The sections below spell out the details.
2. Who we are
This policy applies to the NeonDAW application ("NeonDAW", "the app") and this website (together, "the Service"), operated by the makers of NeonDAW ("we", "us", "our"). If you have questions, reach us at the address in the Contact section.
3. Information we collect
NeonDAW is designed to work without collecting personal data. We do not ask you to create an account, and the app does not include analytics, advertising, or tracking software that reports your activity back to us.
Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or contact details;
- Your music, MIDI, projects, recordings, or samples;
- Usage analytics, telemetry, or behavioural profiles;
- Your location or device advertising identifiers.
If the app ever displays a crash report or diagnostic prompt, that report is handled by Apple's standard developer tools and is only shared with your consent through the operating system — never automatically.
4. What stays on your device
Everything you make in NeonDAW is stored locally by default: project files, audio you record, samples you import, plugin settings, saved chord sets, and your preferences. We have no ability to access these files. If you back up your Mac to iCloud or another service, those backups are governed by that service's own privacy terms, not ours.
5. Microphone & file access
To function as a recording studio, NeonDAW may request certain macOS permissions. These are used only for the feature described and only while you use it:
- Microphone / audio input — so you can record live audio into a track. Audio is processed and saved locally; it is never transmitted to us.
- Files and folders you select — so you can open and save projects and import your own samples. NeonDAW only accesses files you explicitly choose.
- Audio Unit hosting — so the app can load audio plugins you have installed on your system.
NeonDAW runs inside Apple's App Sandbox, which limits it to exactly these permissions. You can review or revoke any of them at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security.
6. Purchases & the App Store
If you obtain NeonDAW through the Mac App Store, your purchase, payment, and download are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment card or billing details. Apple may share limited, aggregated sales and territory information with us as the developer; this is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Please review Apple's terms to understand how they process your transaction.
7. This website
This marketing website is intentionally lightweight. It does not set advertising cookies or run cross-site trackers. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running; these logs are not used to identify you or build a profile, and are retained only as long as needed for those operational purposes.
8. Third-party plugins
NeonDAW can host Audio Unit plugins made by other developers. Once you load a third-party plugin, that software runs inside the app and is subject to its developer's privacy practices, not ours. We are not responsible for how third-party plugins handle data. If a plugin's behaviour concerns you, consult that developer's documentation.
9. Children's privacy
NeonDAW is a general-audience creative tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, no special data-deletion process is required.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA to access, correct, or delete personal data a company holds about you. Because NeonDAW does not collect or store your personal data on our systems, in most cases there is nothing for us to retrieve or erase. If you believe we hold information about you and wish to exercise a right, contact us and we will respond in line with applicable law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as the app evolves or as the law changes. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted here. Continuing to use the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
